This course will be of benefit to trainee and newly qualified solicitors and Legal Executives commencing their family law experience, or returners to this area of law looking for an overview and an update.
Overview
You will be taken through an overview of the practical steps to advise on, and to lodge an application in divorce, children, domestic abuse, and a financial claim; in each case pre-action steps, the court forms and procedure before the court will be outlined.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Understand the main forms, common directions, procedural rules and practical steps throughout all stages for the following areas:
- Divorce and other forms of petition – defended and undefended
- Section 8 applications for contact, residence, specific issue and prohibited steps
- Domestic abuse - non-molestation and occupation orders
