The area of Special Guardianship, Placement Orders and Adoption is evolving at a rapid pace, and all practitioners, whether local authority based, or private practice, need to be familiar with these, so as to advise appropriately.

Overview

This course will take a practical approach, so as to assist you, whether you are private practice or local authority based. We will look at developments in the case law & statute. The course will enable discussion to follow from the speakers own experience of working in these areas.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

• Understand the Adoption and Children Act 2020
• Explain the Making of the Placement and Adoption Applications
• Describe the procedure under the Adoption Agencies Regulations
• Understand the law and practice on revocation of Placement Orders
• Explain the use and effect of Special Guardianship Orders
• Understand Special guardianship and Adoption support
