Overview

You will review the subject area from a practical and commercial perspective with detailed reference to relevant statutory provisions and case law.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • List the criteria for presenting a bankruptcy petition
  • Recognise the importance of the statutory demand procedure and what do you do when your client receives one
  • Identify the procedure for serving and receiving a petition and the effect of presenting a petition
  • Evaluate when a validation order is required
  • Identify the consequences of the petition and an order
  • Detail the costs implications of a petition
  • Describe the procedure for getting and annulling an order
