This course will benefit all those who need a comprehensive understanding of the UK criminal and civil market abuse and insider dealing regime and how it impacts the financial services industry. The course will help those attending to understand the expectations of the regulator and assist them to manage the market abuse risk within their business. Case studies and practical examples are used throughout the day to aid understanding of the rules, promote discussion and enable delegates to share best practice


The new Market Abuse Regulation took effect on 3rd July 2016 introducing a number of changes to the existing civil regime and widening its scope. As a Regulation, the rules take direct effect and are supplemented by Technical Standards and ESMA Guidelines. The course fully explains the structure of the new rules and the impact on the FCA Handbook and the status of The Code of Market Conduct. It may be useful to prospective delegates looking for an update or refresher course as well as those who are new to the area or wish to understand the subject matter in more detail.
