The valuation of intangibles is a very important consideration under IFRS. The introduction of IFRS 3, along with the modifications in IAS 36 and IAS 38, changes the way we account for intangible assets.

The identification and valuation of intangible assets in a business combination, as well as annual impairment tests for goodwill, requires a solid understanding of appropriate valuation methods.
