CPD Requirements - CIOT

A member should carry out his professional work with a proper regard for the technical and professional standards expected of him. Members need to keep up-to-date with the ever-changing world of taxation if they are to provide the highest standards of service to their clients. The Institute considers CPD to be the best way of ensuring that members do so.

Any member engaged in the practice of UK taxation (whether as a partner, sole practitioner, director or employee) in industry, commerce or private practice is required to undertake CPD.

The minimum requirement is 90 hours per calendar year, of which 20 hours must be structured training. The annual requirement can be met on an averaging basis over any two consecutive years.
